NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges.

Examples include the following:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Holiday Cancellations

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Our fees for Non-NHS services are displayed in reception.

Please note, we no longer sign passport applications / photos.

Post Natal

By appointment with the G.P, This should be arranged with the practice reception staff 8 weeks after your baby is born.

Antenatal Clinic

The midwife holds antenatal clinics weekly in Ollerton. If you require any information or guidance please ask at reception.

Cervical Cytology Screening

We encourage women age 25 to 49 to have a smear test every three years. From age 49 years upwards every 5 years.

Contraception

Care is provided by all the doctors & nurses. This includes prescribing the contraceptive pill, emergency contraception and coil and implant fitting / removal.

Social Worker/Services

Nearest office-Ollerton. Providing information/ help with problems related to housing, finance and caring for the young, elderly or handicapped.

Community Services at Edwinstowe Health Centre

District Nurses, Health Visitors, Community Paediatric Nurse, Podiatry, hearing aid batteries, baby milk and incontinence products are available from this reception.

Health Care Assistants

Health Care Assistants are available for various medical procedures such as blood tests, ECGs, new Patient Medicals, blood pressure checks, dressings, diabetic foot checks etc.

Minor Injuries

To avoid an unnecessary trip to A & E, we now treat minor injuries such as sprains, minor cuts and bruises, and minor head injuries etc. here at the surgery. 

Travel Vaccinations

By appointment with the practice nurse. Please contact the surgery at least 2 weeks before you are due to depart, brief details will be taken by the receptionist from you for the practice nurse such as where you are travelling to, for how long, any planned trips, and accommodation type.  The nurse will later check the recommended vaccinations and we will contact you to inform you of which vaccinations you require, if any and inform you of any charges incurred.
